CHRIS DʼARIENZO (writer/ director/ producer) - Chris created the five time Tony nominated musical “Rock Of Ages,” the 27th longest running show in Broadway history. Along with its broadway and off-broadway productions, "Rock of Ages" has enjoyed three National Tours, two years on the West End, productions in Australia, Scandinavia, Toronto, Tokyo, Korea, Philippines, Mexico, Norwegian Cruise Lines, as well as a home at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In addition, Chris co-wrote and executive produced the major motion picture adaptation of his musical starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, and Catherine Zeta Jones.
Chris also wrote and directed the feature film “Barry Munday,” starring Patrick Wilson, Judy Greer, Chloe Sevigny, Malcolm McDowell, Cybill Shepard, and Billy Dee Williams. “Barry Munday” was selected as a Spotlight Film for the 2010 South By Southwest Film Festival, as well as a selected film for the 2010 Edinburgh Film Festival in Scotland and the Newport Film Festival (winner of that yearʼs “Outstanding Filmmaking Award”).
Presently, Chris is directing the feature film “Always On My Mind” from his original script. The film stars Oscar Nominees Nick Nolte, Glenn Close, and Laura Dern, with original music by Oscar, Tony, and multiple Grammy winner Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
Chris is concurrently developing stage adaptations of Martin Scorceseʼs “The King Of Comedy” for New Regency, Paul Mazurskyʼs “Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice” for Sony Theatrical, as well as an original jukebox musical featuring the catalogue of rock nʼ roll hall of famers Hall & Oates and an original musical collaboration with Tony and Emmy Award Winner Neil Patrick Harris.
Chris graduated from Michigan State University where he was presented with the "Outstanding Alumni Award” in 2013 from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.
